The Comet and The Nostalgic Souls examines the conditions of existence in the digital age through a speculative tale of a post-apocalyptic world where realities, memories, and souls have been transformed into digital forms. Inspired by beliefs surrounding comets and spirits, the work reflects on the tension between the digital system and what remains beyond its boundaries.

 

At the center of this tale is the relationship between the soul and the comet: a celestial phenomenon once perceived as an omen of disaster and a messenger from the unknown. Within the digital realm, the comet emerges as a glitch, a bug in the system that reveals traces of forgotten memories and hidden possibilities beyond its limits.

 

Through the processes of forgetting, data erasure, and the memory-resetting mechanisms of reincarnation, the project considers what happens to the soul when existence itself is transformed into digital form. The comet acts as a trigger, awakening traces of the soul that remain beyond the digital system and becoming a point of departure for new possibilities. It questions whether anything can escape the logic of the system, suggesting that what lies beyond may still hold the potential for remembrance, transformation, and another form of existence.
