The Comet and The Nostalgic Souls
18 February - 8 April 2023, Nova Contemporary, Bangkok, Thailand
I imagine a future beyond the present, in an era of a post-apocalyptic digital world where all realities and souls exist in digital form. I create a conspiracy myth inspired by the belief in comets, spirits, and my current environment in the digital age. In this setting, I focus on the deep connection between souls and the comet—an omen of disaster, a symbol of the outer world, cycles, and a digital bug—through the process of forgetting and the memory-resetting of reincarnation. Even when everything is digital, what remains within the soul will be triggered by the comet, evoking nostalgia for something lost in deep time, beyond the system.
